Stella Maris, St. Pius and F.E Pollard through to finals of Future Warriors Tapeball

The final three have been decided in the inaugural Future Warriors Tapeball Tournament, sponsored by ExxonMobil.

The progressing Primary Schools are Stella Maris Primary, St. Pius Primary, and F.E Pollard Primary after an eventful day at the Everest Cricket Club.

Stella Maris secured their spot in the final three after they defeated Graham’s Hall Primary by 10 wickets.

Led by the impressive Tafarri Softleigh with 30 (5x4s; 1×6) and Brandon Frank 15 (1×4; 1×6), Stella Maris raced to the target of 51 in 5.3 overs.

Owen Abel top-scored for Graham’s Hall with 19 (3x4s), while Recardo Roopnauth got 14 (1×4; 1×6) in leading Graham’s Hall to 50-2.

For St. Pius, their second win of the day was against St. Ambrose, and it was a canter as they restricted the Albertown unit to 25-5 and then reached 29-1 in 2.4 overs with Stephon McPherson smashing two sixes in his unbeaten 14.

It was both fun and competitive for the teams

For F.E Pollard, they defended 62-1 by restricting St. Gabriel’s Primary to 50-1.

Devani Primo top-scored for F.E Pollard with 23 (4x4s) and supported by Jaydon Sargent (14), while Aiden DoSantos made 32* (7x4s).

These final three teams will play each other on Sunday, and the top two will play the final.

The winning team will be ‘adopted’ by the Guyana Amazon Warriors during their home leg of the Caribbean Premier League.
