Government pathologist Dr Nehaul Singh and three other persons, including two of his staff, were injured on Thursday afternoon after the car in which they were in slammed into a light pole on the Huist Dieren Public road, Essequibo Coast.

Reports are that the accident occurred around 17:15hrs.

Singh and his staff, Shericka Razac, 27, and Montague Alison, 38, both of Georgetown, were occupants of motor car PJJ 6267. The car was being driven by Inspector of Police Alfred Madray.

Dr Singh and the others were on the Essequibo coast to conduct a post mortem examination and were heading to the ferry stelling for their return to Georgetown.

The News Room understands that inspector claimed that he lost control of the car while negotiating a bend on the road.
Dr Singh, his staff and the Police Inspector received injuries about their bodies.

They were then picked up in a conscious state by public spirited citizens and taken to the Suddie Public hospital where they were admitted.

The victims were later air-dashed to the city for further medical attention.

Their conditions are listed as stable.
