    Jamual John wins Team Alanis 50-mile road race

    Jamual John emerged winner of the Team Alanis 50-mile road race on Sunday, topping a field of riders who competed from Georgetown, along the East Coast and back to the city to the finish.

    The race started in front of the Guyana Defence Force, proceeded to Mahaica and returned to the point of origin for the finish.

    While John won the Senior category, Alexander Leung was the top Junior, Alex Newton won the Juvenile category and Junior Niles was the top Over-50 rider.

    Seniors

    1st– Jamual John

    2nd– Curtis Dey

    3rd– Briton John

    4th– Robin Persaud

    5th– Romello Crawford

    6th– Alexander Leung

    Juniors

    1st– Alexander Leung

    2nd– Aaron Newton

    Juveniles

    1st– Alex Newton

    2nd– Daniel Jiang

    Over-50

    1st– Junior Niles

    2nd– Mark Spencer

    3rd– Talim Shaw

    Competitive cycling action continues on Sunday September 24 with 21st Victor Macedo Memorial Road Race, sponsored by Macedo Transportation Services and organised by Flying Stars Cycle Club.

    The race will start in Queenstown, head to Abary and return to Carifesta Avenue in the city for the finish.
