Sharon’s Inc., a company that has established itself in Guyana over the last five decades, is embarking on two new ventures in an effort to contribute to the rapidly developing economy.
Managing Director of Sharon’s Inc. Chrismichael Pertab says the new ventures are a three-storey office building and a new hotel.
Both facilities are being constructed in Georgetown, Guyana’s capital city and business hub. Pertab says Sharon’s Inc. believes these new facilities will add significant value to the business landscape of Georgetown.
Pertab told the News Room that the office building is near completion and is ready for rental.
With the 32-room hotel, the company will be entering into an increasingly prolific hospitality industry. This facility should be completed by August 2024, less than a year from now. It will feature a rooftop garden, 24/7 car service, a private pool and 24-hour security services.
The company may be best known for the Sharon’s Mall, which was unfortunately destroyed by fire in 2021, but Pertab highlighted that the company is keen on contributing to the development of Guyana.
“With Guyana’s rising economy and infrastructure it seemed like the perfect opportunity for us to take part in these projects.
“Our goal is to foster new communities while preserving the already established neighbourhoods. Our projects are designed to cater towards the influx of businesses that have taken root here, but most importantly to provide ample job and business opportunities for the Guyanese citizens who are here as well,” he said.
