Reports are that the fire started just before 23:00hrs in one of the rooms situated on the fourth floor of the hotel.

The News Room understands that persons who were at the pool side of the hotel noticed thick smoke coming from the room. An alarm was raised and the Guyana Fire Service (GFS) was summoned.

This Fire Chief is obviously OUT OF UNIFORM at an active Fire Scene. Let’s see if Pres. Ali will fire this chief, like he did with the previous chief (being out of uniform) at the Eve Leary Fire a while back. People are watching.
The fired chief was East Indian. This current chief is Negro. Ali should be playing the “level playing field”.
We are waiting Mr. President… your next move. I never forgot the ridicule he leveled at the fired fire chief
for being out of uniform etc..
