Two students assaulted, robbed by five men

Two students, a 16-year-old and a 15-year-old, were assaulted and robbed by five men while leaving lessons on Tuesday night.

Police Headquarters reported that the incident occurred at about 19:45hrs at Diamond Access Road, East Bank Demerara (EBD).

The 16-year-old was robbed of a Samsung S21 valued at $85,000 and the 15-year-old was robbed of an iPhone 7 valued at $68,000 along with a backpack and $200 cash.

According to Police, five identifiable males (juveniles) approached the 16-year-old and dealt him several cuffs and stabbed him with an ice pick.

The suspects also held onto the 15-year-old.

Police said the victims then informed their parents and later made a report at the Golden Grove/ Diamond Police Station, EBD.

Detectives processed the scene, and the area was canvassed for CCTV footage.

The victims were sent in company with their parents to seek medical attention.

Investigations are ongoing.
