Friendship man who assaulted woman remanded to prison
Simon Corlette
Simon Corlette, a 27-year-old resident of Friendship Squatting Area, East Bank Demerara, was arrested and charged on October 03, 2023, for abusing language and assault causing actual bodily harm.
The offences were committed on a 25-year-old female of the same address.
Corlette appeared at the Diamond/Golden Grove Magistrates’ Court before Principal Magistrate Judy Latchman, where the charges were read to him. He pleaded guilty to the Abusive Language charge and was fined $15,000.
He pleaded not guilty to the Assault Causing Actual Bodily Harm charge and was remanded to prison. The matter was postponed to October 30, 2023 for trial.
