A 27-year-old vendor of South Ruimvedlt, Georgetown was arrested on Sunday after Police found an illegal firearm hidden in his pants crotch.
Police Headquarters reported that the man was nabbed around 18:13 hrs at Princes and Hardina streets, Werk-en-Rust, Georgetown.
According to a Police report, ranks acted on information received and went to Werk-en-Rust where they contacted the suspect.
A search was conducted on his person and one black Taurus .380 millennium pro pistol and one magazine without ammunition was found in his pants crotch.
Police said the suspect was asked if he was the holder of a firearm license and he replied ‘no’.
He was escorted to the Brickdam Police Station, where the firearm was marked and sealed in his presence and lodged.
