Police ranks on Wednesday arrested Gose Awad, a 29-year-old ‘motor bodywork man’ of Lima Sands, Essequibo, who is wanted for Break and Enter and Larceny.
The suspect was caught at around 09:00 hrs at Wisroc Junction in Wismar Linden, in a silver-grey car bearing registration number PMM 4928.
This car was reported stolen between September 29 and October 2, 2023 at Lima Sands, Essequibo Coast in Region Two.
The car is the property of Nefertiti Hamilton, a 29-year-old teacher of Mainstay, Essequibo, Police Headquarters noted in a statement.
According to the Police, the suspect committed the Break and Enter and Larceny act against Ganesh Jagmohan, a 58-year-old bus driver of Cornelia Ida, West Coast Demerara, between May 22 and 27, 2023.
He is accused of stealing from Jagmohan articles valued at $2.5 million.
The suspect was arrested and escorted to the Wismar Police Station along with the stolen car.
Awad and the car were later escorted to Regional Police Division # 3 for investigation, after which he will be escorted to Region #2 for further investigations into the stolen car.
