Kevin Odit, a 23-year-old labourer of Anna Regina, Region Two (Pomeroon- Supenaam), was sentenced to 12 months imprisonment for unlawfully wounding 56-year-old Chateram Persaud.
Police Headquarters reported that the incident occurred on May 28 at the Anna Regina Market Road, Essequibo Coast.
Odit pleaded guilty to the offence on Wednesday when he appeared virtually before Magistrate Esther Sam at the Anna Regina Magistrate’s Court. And his 12 month sentence was subsequently handed down.
