South/Central Branch will be represented by the athletes who participated in the Inter-school championship and met the criteria to qualify for the District Two Inter-Branch Lawrence Kellman Athletics Championship where the will compete against athletes from North and Pomeroon Branches.

The District Two Inter-Branch Lawrence Kellman Athletics Championship is slated to run from October 25-27.

This year’s championship took on a special meaning as South/Central Branch, under the leadership of Sir Martin Samaroo, and the District Two Sports Committees, led by Sir Fenton Williams, decided to honour the late Lawrence Kellman by renaming and dedicating the championship after him.

Known affectionately as ‘Sir Kelly’, Lawrence Kellman was one of the longest-serving members of District Two sports and athletics in Guyana.

His dedication and passion for sport left an indelible mark on the athletes and teachers of District Two, and the naming of the championship after him was a recognition of his legacy. (Azizi Christiani)
