ENet is Title Sponsor of ‘Caribbean Clash of Champions’
ENet, Guyana’s newest telecommunications provider, has been confirmed as title sponsor for the Caribbean Clash of Champions season-ending motor-racing championship on November 5 at South Dakota.
Dubbed the ‘Greatest Race of All Time’, the Clash of Champions will be headlined by a power-packed Group Four category featuring Caribbean motor-racing legends Mark Vieira, Andrew King and Kevin Jeffrey of Guyana, Doug ‘Hollywood’ Gore of Jamaica, Mark Maloney of Barbados, Franklin Boodram of Trinidad and Tobago and Team CAMS’ Chris Lall, Mohan Rangasammy, Neil Persaud, Lenny Samaroo and Mark Samaroo.
As the premier corporate partner for the event, ENet is proud to align with the Guyana Motor Racing and Sports Club (GMR&SC) to ensure competitors and spectators enjoy a memorable day of racing.
Chief Executive Officer of ENet Vishok Persaud said at a press conference on Wednesday evening: “It’s an event that we’re very proud to be part of, and we’re happy to partner with the GMR&SC.”
“Overall, I think this is going to be an incredible event for motorsport, not only for us in Guyana, but for the entire region.”
ENet has also sponsored Guyanese biker Matthew Vieira for the upcoming meet.
Vieira, who will officially launch his bike on Friday night at a ‘tune up’ event at MovieTowne, will suit up for the highly anticipated and competitive Supersport category, which has attracted over 20 competitors from Guyana, Trinidad, Barbados, USA and the UK.
“From our end at ENet, we’ve been impressed with the proposals from GMR&SC, the new format for the event, the facilities (at South Dakota) and the amount of work that is going into those facilities,” Persaud, himself a Group 4 driver, highlighted.
“From a driver’s perspective, it (South Dakota) is probably the most superior track in the region. Guyana has been known, without having the (extended) track before, as the mecca of motor-racing in the Caribbean. It’s going to be exciting to see how all turns out, because as it sits right now, everybody is close in lap times.”
Races get underway at 11:00h on November 5, with rivalry in Group 4, Group 3, Group 2, Starlet Cup, Sports Tuner, Street Tuner and Superstock and Supersport bikes.
Pre-sale tickets are available at G$3,000 (adults) and G$1,000 (children).
