Motorcyclist, 26, dies in collision at Linden

A 26-year-old motorcylist died on Friday following a collision with a car on Sir David Rose Avenue, Mackenzie, Linden.

Dead is Keon Marvin, 26 of Mackenzie, Linden.

Police Headquarters reported that an investigation has been launched into the accident which occurred at about 10:45hrs.

Marvin was the rider of motorcycle CH 6074.

A car, PAE 6091, driven by Denzel Naipaul, a 22-year-old resident of Ituni with two occupants, ages 18 and 12, allegedly collided with him.

Police said the car was heading east along the northern side of the road. Marvin was heading in the opposite direction.

“As the car and motorcycle approached the said intersection, the driver of motorcar, PAE 6091 (Naipaul) made a sudden right turn south into Washer Pond Road and ended up in the path of the motorcyclist, who collided with the left side rear door of the car,” Police explained.

As a result of the collision, the Marvin was flung some distance onto the roadway.

He was picked up by public-spirited citizens in an unconscious condition and taken to the Mackenzie Public Hospital Complex, where he succumbed while receiving treatment.

The driver of the car is currently in police custody assisting with the investigation.
