Gun, ammo found; suspect on the run

Ranks of the Guyana Police Force (GPF) are on the hunt for a man, who allegedly dropped a bag containing an unlicensed firearm and several matching rounds at Turkeyen.

Police Headquarters said ranks received information on Saturday and went to a property near the CARICOM Secretariat at Turkeyen where a party was ongoing.

There, they saw the suspect, who was clad in a white jersey and blue long pants. He had a black bag in his possession.

Upon seeing the ranks, Police said the suspect dropped the bag and escaped.

The bag was checked and it contained one .32 pistol and five rounds of matching ammunition.
