Loaded Revolver found in female washroom at CJIA

A loaded .38 revolver was found in a washroom in the departure lounge of the Cheddi Jagan International Airport (CJIA) Friday morning.

Akeem Algernon, a 30-year-old plumber attached to the airport made the discovery at about 09:30hrs when he went to the washroom to carry out a routine inspection.

“He entered the washroom and observed a firearm on the ‘cistern’ of the toilet in the female washroom,” a statement from Police Headquarters noted.

Algernon reported the matter to the Police. Ranks responded immediately.

The firearm was seized, sealed, marked and lodged in an evidence bag at Timehri Police Station.

    Bravo to this plumber…good job— please give him a reward- he deserved more than just a job.
    Someone got COLD FEET, decided not to take it on the aircraft… or, the contact in the baggage handling ?
    He/she must have gotten the same sick- COLD FEET.
