Police have arrested a 17-year-old suspect in connection with the fatal stabbing of Shawn Persaud, a 17-year-old called “Buckman” of Betsy Ground East Canje Berbice.
Regional Commander, Shivpersaud Bacchus, confirmed that the suspect was arrested on Sunday.
The incident occurred at about 19:00hrs on Saturday.
A statement from Police Headquarters noted that the teenager allegedly stabbed Persaud during a confrontation.
Persaud was taken to the New Amsterdam Public Hospital where he was pronounced dead by a doctor on duty.
