Ishwar Persaud, a 49-year-old lineman employed with the Guyana Power and Light (GPL) Inc. is hospitalised after he was electrocuted at Vreed-en-Hoop, West Coast Demerara (WCD), on Saturday.
Police Headquarters reported that Persaud came into contact with a live electric wire while engaging in maintenance work on a pole at the Vreed-en-Hoop Stelling Road area.
As a result, he was electrocuted and left hanging on the pole. Subsequently, he was removed in an unconscious state by his co-workers and rushed to the West Demerara Regional Hospital, where he is receiving medical attention.
His condition is listed as stable.
