Shaheed Ishmail, a 36-year-old motorcyclist of Cornelia Ida, West Coast Demerara, died early Sunday morning after his motorcycle and a car collided on the Good Hope Public Road, East Bank Essequibo.
Police Headquarters reported that 31-year-old Delvon Stuart was driving his motor car PZZ 1848 east along the northern side of the road at a fast rate at about 06:00 hrs Sunday.

As a result of the collision, the motorcyclist was flung into the air and then fell onto the windscreen of the car; he ended up on the northern side of the road where his leg was dislocated. Ismail received other injuries about his body.
He was picked up in an unconscious state and taken to the Leonora Cottage Hospital where he was pronounced dead.
The body was then escorted to Ezekiel Funeral Home for storage, awaiting a post mortem examination.
A breathalyser test was conducted on the driver and he was found to be above the prescribed limit (with the results showing .56 and .57 micrograms in his breath), Police Headquarters reported.
The driver is in custody assisting with the investigation.
