Most of the Rupununi Academy Training Centre (ATC) Under-17 Football is unscathed after an accident near Rockstone in Region Ten after lunch on Thursday.

They are encamped at the Guyana Football Federation’s Technical Centre at Providence, East Bank Demerara.

According to the GFF, “The team was physically examined by the medical staff at the Mackenzie hospital, and it was confirmed that only one boy had a minor scratch.”

In an invited comment, the GFF President stated, “The first 30 minutes after receiving the distress phone call were extremely tense at the Secretariat. We immediately contacted the Upper Demerara Football Association First Vice President, Shawn Adams, who quickly mobilized the transportation to take the boys and staff to the Mackenzie hospital, where they were examined.”

Forde noted that Adams organized refreshments for the players before they continued their journey to Providence.

He indicated they appreciated that little physical harm occurred, and it could have been polemically worse.

The players traveled to compete in the Namilco Thunderbolt Flour Power U17 National Academy Playoff.
