Linden man busted with $4 million worth in ganja

Ranks of the Customs Anti Narcotics Unit (CANU) on Thursday arrested 37-year-old Leonard Caleb for the illegal possession of 12.54 kg (almost 27.6 lbs.) of cannabis.

A press release from CANU Noted that the illegal drugs has a street value of approximately $ 4 million.

According to CANU, its ranks were conducting an operation at Providence, East Bank Demerara in the vicinity of a popular mall when they intercepted a car bearing registration number PAE 6311 driven by Caleb.

A subsequent search of the car led to the discovery of a salt bag containing bulky parcels suspected to be cannabis.

Caleb of Amelia’s Ward, Linden was arrested and escorted to CANU’s Headquarters along with the narcotics which later tested positive for cannabis.

Investigations are ongoing.
