The World Court on Friday ruled that Venezuela should not take any action to seize control of Guyana’s Essequibo region.

between the Parties. It further observes that the territory which forms the object of that dispute was
awarded to British Guiana in the 1899 Award (see paragraph 13 above). For these reasons, the Court
