Chris Gopaul, a 33-year-old fisherman of Riverview Mahaica, East Coast Demerara, was on Monday charged with the offence of attempted rape.
Police Headquarters reported that he was arrested on November 30; he appeared at the Sparendaam Magistrate’s Court before Magistrate Alisha George, where the charge was read to him.
He was not required to plea and was remanded to prison until January 9, 2023.
