Sunil Ramdeo, a 25-year-old welder was on Tuesday sentenced to 12 months imprisonment for assaulting an 11-year-old student of the C.V. Nunes Primary School.
The incident occurred on July 16, 2023 at Anna Regina, Essequibo Coast.
Ramdeo, a resident of Anna Regina, was subsequently charged.
On Tuesday, when the case was called at the Anna Regina Magistrate’s Court before Magistrate Esther Sam, Ramdeo was found guilty of the offence.
As such, he was sentenced to 12 months imprisonment.
