Man, 58, dies in Essequibo accident

Abdool Hakeem Ally, 58, died on Thursday following an accident on the Aberdeen Public Road, Essequibo Coast.

The accident occurred at about 13:00hrs.

Ally was the driver of motor car, PAE 4651. The car was occupied by Bibi Jaleel, 54 of D Little Alliance, Essequibo Coast.

Reports are that motor car, PSS 973, was heading south along the eastern lane of the public road, at a fast rate, when the driver, Dwarka Nauth, 67, alleged that he observed Ally’s car from a distance.

Upon approaching him, Nauth alleged that Ally made a sudden swerve into the eastern lane and collided with the front of his motor car.

As a result of the collision, both vehicles were damaged.

Ally’s lifeless body was taken out of his car. His body is at the Suddie Funeral Parlour awaiting a post-mortem examination.

At the time of the accident, Nauth’s car had one occupant, 54-year-old Deonne Nauth.

Nauth was taken into custody and is assisting with the investigation.
