Bartica businessman, 57, remanded for possession of illegal ammo

A 57-year-old Bartica businessman was remanded to prison on Wednesday for possession of a quantity of ammunition without license.

Carl Reddy called “Brother Carl” of Second Avenue, Bartica appeared before Magistrate Crystal Lambert at the Bartica Magistrate’s Court.

He was pleaded not guilty to the charge and was remanded to prison.

The case was adjourned to January 19, 2024.

Police in Region Seven conducted an operation at Kumung Kumung Landing between 18:30hrs and 20:00hrs last Friday during which several shops and persons were searched.

During the operation, Police said Reddy’s motorcar, PTT 3770, was intercepted.

A search was conducted his vehicle and thirty 20-gauge cartridges, twenty 16-gauge cartridges, fifty-seven 12-gauge cartridges, one hundred and thirty .32 rounds, twenty-nine .38 special rounds, one hundred and eleven 9mm rounds, forty-nine .40 rounds and two .25 rounds were found.

One 12-gauge Browning single-barrel shotgun was also found in Reddy’s vehicle.

Police said he produced a license for the weapon.

    BROTHER CARL… you are in deep sxxt ! Those shotgun cartridges could work after some manipulation and adjustment… but, those small caliber ones for a hand gun ?
