Rajendra Moniram, a 23-year-old labourer of Onderneeming/Sand Pit, Essequibo Coast, was Wednesday charged after he fired at a Police Detective Corporal in September.
The incident occurred on September 29 at Onderneeming Sand Pit, Essequibo Coast.
Police Headquarters reported that Moniram was charged with the offence of ‘Discharging a Loaded Firearm with Intent’ when he appeared virtually before Magistrate Esther Sam at the Wakenaam Magistrate’s Court.
Moniram was granted $500,000 bail and the case was adjourned to January 26, 2024 at the Suddie Magistrate’s Court for a report on legal advice and disclosure of statements.
