Two charged over armed robbery at Diamond back in August

Days after they were arrested, two men were on Wednesday charged for allegedly robbing a Diamond, East Bank Demerara (EBD) man in August.
Delon George, 22 and Alex Simpson, 25, both of Diamond Housing Scheme, appeared before Senior Magistrate Sunil Scarce at the Diamond/Grove Magistrate’s Court.
They are accused of robbing Dharshanan Bandho, at 19th Avenue Diamond on August 23, 2023.
The duo pleaded not guilty to the charge.
George was remanded to prison while Simpson was granted bail in the sum of $200,000.
Police said the accused were arrested on December 22, 2023 by ranks of an anti-crime patrol.
The case was adjourned to January 2, 2024 for statements.
