Fast food lovers requested it and Camex Restaurants delivered, Lisa Insanally, the company’s Deputy Chief Executive Officer said on Saturday when Church’s Chicken and Dairy Queen opened at Diamond, East Bank Demerara.
This new location next door to Courts, caters especially for all East Bank Demerara residents and comes with a drive-thru and late opening hours.
Camex Restaurants Inc., in operation for 17 years, is the country’s largest restaurant operator and the Diamond location becomes the 18th Church’s Chicken branch and the 10th DQ across the country.
“The closest location that we have is at the Amazonia Mall and since there are a lot of customers in the Diamond area, we were looking for a location for quite some time; we were glad that we found one that will be able to give us a drive-thru. Not only will we capture this area, but anybody who is traversing on the East Bank,” Insanally told the News Room.
She said the company is always looking to make customers happy and in doing so, it spent about two years looking for a suitable location in Diamond. She said there was a delay due to investments for a location at the new West Central Mall at Leonora, West Coast Demerara.
The grand opening of the new location saw customers approaching the building hours before the opening time at 16:00hrs.
At this time the facility only allows for takeaway services but soon the seating area will be open for customers. Additionally, the drive-thru will be open to the public as soon as next week.
Opening hours at the location are 10:00hrs to 21:00 hrs and these hours are later at weekends.
Camex Restaurants Inc. is spearheading some 28 franchise locations of its five brands, which include Church’s Chicken, Dairy Queen, Pollo Tropical, Mario’s Pizza and Quiznos. It is highly recognised for providing employment for women and residents in the areas where it has branches.
