Essequibo man shot multiple times during robbery
Police are on the hunt for two bandits who shot and robbed a 31-year-old man in the wee hours of Tuesday.
The shooting and robbery occurred at around 03:30 hrs in front a popular liquor shop at Good Hope, Essequibo Coast.
Police Commander, Khemraj Shivbaran, told the News Room on Wednesday that the 31-year-old victim Gowtam Williams, sustained seven gunshot wounds – three to the abdomen and two each on both feet.
The victim is in a stable condition in the Intensive Care Unit of the Suddie Hospital.
The News Room understands that the victim was robbed of his iPhone and two gold chains weighing 12 ounces.
