    Yarrowkabra residents remanded on break & enter, illegal gun, ammo charges

    Three residents from Yarrowkabra, Soesdyke/Linden Highway were remanded to prison on Tuesday on several charges relating to break and enter, the possession of an illegal gun and ammunition.

    Police Headquarters reported that Amos Emmanuel, 22, and Bryan Khan, 28, were arrested last week and charged for the offence of break and enter and larceny committed on the dwelling house of Mohamed Hack.

    This incident occurred on November 22, 2023, at Yarrowkabra.

    The accused appeared at the Diamond Magistrate’s Court before Magistrate Judy Latchman, where the two pleaded not guilty. Bail was denied and they were both remanded to prison. The matter was adjourned to January 19, 2024.

    The two accused were also charged with the unlawful possession of a firearm without a license (one. 38 Revolver) and the unlawful possession of a quantity of .38 ammunition without a license. They both pleaded not guilty and were also remanded to prison for these two offences.

    Meanwhile, Alwyn James, a 27-year-old resident of Yarrowkabra, Soesdyke/Linden Highway was arrested last week and charged with the offence of unlawful possession of 31 live 12 gauge cartridges.

    He too appeared at the Diamond Magistrate’s Court before Magistrate Judy Latchman and pleaded not guilty. Bail was denied and he was remanded to prison.

    The matter was adjourned to January 19, 2024.
