Two friends lost their lives Monday night following an accident involving their motorcycle and a car along the Courtland Public Road, Corentyne, Berbice.

Dead are Javid Mohamed, 35, the owner and rider of motorcycle #CM2728 of 25 B Fyrish Village, and Harrienarine Chattergoon, 29, the pillon rider who is also from Fyrish Village.

Reports are that the car was heading west along the road when the motorcycle was proceeding in the opposite direction.

The motorcycle slammed head-on into the car.

As a result, the two were flung from the motorcycle and onto the road. They were subsequently picked up in an unconscious state by the police and public-spirited individuals and taken to the Port Mourant Hospital where Mohamed was pronounced dead.

At the time, Chattergoon was receiving treatment but opted for self-discharge. He admitted himself at the Anamayah Hospital but subsequently succumbed to his injuries there.

News Room understands that a breathalyzer test was conducted on the driver of the car but no trace of alcohol was found. An investigation is underway.

Not bad at all, not bad. Motor cycle is pieces.
Not the entire roadway is lighted at night except for towns.
So, all vehicles drive with their BRIGHT LIGHTS but, don’t dip their light regardless if there
are street lights. It is dangerous for both drivers to be “blinded” by oncoming lights, whilst
    losing his direction.
In the captioned photo, you can see the BRIGHT LIGHTS.
