More than $3.2 billion in cannabis destroyed by Joint Services at Berbice River


Ranks of the Guyana Police Force (GPF) and the Guyana Defence Force (GDF) Coast Guard have destroyed over $3.2 billion worth of marijuana plants at Gaetroy, Upper Berbice River.
Police Headquarters reported that the discovery was made during a Joint Services operation at the location.

According to the Police, the ranks initially discovered 10 acres of land which consists of 6,000 cannabis sativa plants and about 8,000 pounds of dry cannabis sativa in a house.
The plants ranged from three to six inches in height. Police said the ranks destroyed the plants and the house as well as two make shift camps and farming tools.
No one was arrested.
