Kwami Browne, 18, was charged after he stole cash and a cellphone from his mother, Shaundel Browne earlier this week.

The charge was, however, dismissed after the woman offered no evidence against the accused.

Police Headquarters reported that Kwami, who resides in South Haslington, East Coast Demerara (ECD), was arrested on Wednesday after he allegedly stole $80,000 cash and a phone valued at $50,000 from his mother.

On Friday, he appeared before Magistrate Fabayo Azore at the Vigilance Magistrate’s Court and was charged with the offence of ‘Larceny in a Dwelling House.’

After Kwami pleaded not guilty and his mother offered no evidence, the matter was dismissed.

  1. 18 years is an adult, right ? Just like 19, 20, 21 y.o. ?
Mama saved her son, not to help him stay out of prison-she offered no evidence.
But, to help him continue his activities in his chosen field.
Since he could steal from his own mother, why couldn’t he steal from others ????
