Diamond man, 29, charged for two EBD robberies, remanded

Kevin Batson called ‘Kero’, a 29-year-old unemployed man of School Street Diamond, East Bank Demerara, was on Friday charged with two counts of robbery under arms, the first committed on Joshua Singh, on January 04, 2024, along the Diamond Public Road, East Bank Demerara.

Batson is accused of robbing Singh of a quantity of items valued at $215,000.

He appeared at the Diamond Golden Grove Magistrate’s Court before Senior Magistrate Sunil Scarce, where the charge was read to him. He pleaded not guilty. Bail was refused, and he was remanded to prison.  The matter was adjourned to February 02, 2024.

Batson was also charged with the offence of robbery under arms committed on Rajesh Ramlakhan at Grove Housing Scheme, EBD, on January 07, 2024.
