Lamaha St. woman wins new car from Church’s Chicken Christmas promotion

Pheona Watson-Shroder, 52, of Lamaha Street, Georgetown received the keys to her brand new car on Monday after winning Church’s Chicken 12 Gifts of Christmas promotion.

Watson-Shroder is the final winner in the 12-week promotion and her prize is a Toyota Axio.

“This is a big surprise; it’s really God’s doing because on that day I was mad because things didn’t go the way I expected things to go.

“I told them up to yesterday that I still can’t believe that out of all these names, mine was pulled. I am very grateful,” Watson-Shroder said at the company’s Camp Street, Georgetown branch.

The annual promotion saw winners from all parts of the country and according to the company’s Customer Service Manager, Donita Persaud, there was immense participation within the Berbice Region.

To enter the competition, customers had to order one of the family meals and fill up a coupon. The coupons were drawn each week and a winner was announced soon after.

For the grand prize giveaway, the drawing was done on January 3, 2024.

Persaud said the company is constantly trying to improve its services and this year the promotion will again have a special surprise.

Church’s Chicken is managed by the Camex Restaurants Inc., which spearheads some 28 franchise locations. It has been in operation for 17 years and is the country’s largest restaurant operator.
