Killer boyfriend ‘Izwe’ nabbed in Suriname
After managing to elude law enforcement officials for close to three years, Shaquawn Alleyne also known as ‘Izwe Boss’, who is wanted for the brutal murder of his girlfriend, Shonnette Dover back in 2021, was on Thursday arrested in neighbouring Suriname.
Sources told the News Room that ranks of the Guyana Police Force (GPF) are in contact with their counterparts and arrangements are being made to have the suspect handed over to local authorities.
Once handed over, Alleyne will be questioned by local Police in relation to the crime.
The GPF had issued a wanted bulletin for Alleyne for questioning in relation to the murder committed between April 3 and 30, 2021.
The body of 20-year-old Dover was found in a sitting position in a shallow grave in the backyard of Alleyne’s house at Canvas City, Wismar Linden on April 30, 2021.
Dover was missing since April 3, 2021. A post-mortem examination later found that the woman died as a result of a single gunshot injury to the head.
Police had said that Dover’s 15-year-old sister confessed to detectives that she saw when Alleyne shot and killed her and then later buried her in the backyard of his house.
The teen was subsequently charged with accessory after the fact of murder.
Alleyne’s father was also arrested during the course of the investigation. However, he was released after no charges were recommended against him.
