Labourer busted with cannabis at Ogle Airport
A 23-year-old outgoing passenger was arrested at the Eugene F. Correia International Airport at Ogle, East Coast Demerara after he was allegedly found in possession of 84 grams of cannabis.
The suspect has been identified as David McDonald, a labourer of Old Kara Kara, McKenzie, Linden.
In a press release on Wednesday, the Customs Anti-Narcotic Unit (CANU) said McDonald was intercepted by ranks of the agency at the airport as he was destined to Aurora, Region Seven.
A search was conducted and he was allegedly found in possession of a transparent parcel containing a quantity of leaves, seeds and stems suspected to be cannabis.
CANU said McDonald was escorted to its headquarters where the narcotics was weighed and amounted to 84 grams.
He is likely to be charged soon.
