Public-spirited citizens came to Hodge’s assistance; he was rushed to the Diamond Diagnostic Centre where he was admitted, treated for his injuries, and sent away hours later.

Subsequently, while at home, Hodge complained of feeling unwell and was again taken to the Diamond Hospital where he was admitted and then transferred to the Georgetown Public Hospital. He succumbed to his injuries at about on May 22, 2019.
