Motorcyclist, 20, dies after losing control of bike at Windsor Forest

A 20-year-old motorcyclist died on Sunday morning after he allegedly lost control of his motorcycle and collided with an electrical pole along the side of the Windsor Forest Public Road, West Coast Demerara.

Dead is Brandon Henry of Crane Housing Scheme, West Coast Demerara.

Police Headquarters said the incident occurred at about 04:00 hrs.

Henry was reportedly riding motorcycle #CM 6508 west along the southern lane of the road at a fast rate when he reportedly lost control of his motorcycle and ended up on the parapet. He then collided with a Guyana Power and Light (GPL) pole which was at the side of the road.

Public spirited citizens picked up the motorcyclist who was in an unconscious state.

He was taken to the West Demerara Regional Hospital, where he was seen and examined by a doctor on duty who pronounced him dead. The body is at the Ezekiel Mortuary, awaiting a post-mortem examination.

    Another young man won’t be around to speed again on the road.

    Sorry, our Electric Power Poles are feeling the brunt of these assaults where roads are.
