Emmanuel Lewis and Parmeshwar Ram started the Guyana Cricket Board (GCB) Under-15 Inter-County with a bang as the duo reeled off centuries in their opening match against defending champions Select XI at the Queen’s College ground, on Sunday.

Lewis blazed his way to a mammoth 160 while the compact Ram got 117 as Demerara pilled on 402-3 from their 50 overs and then bundled Select XI for 137 in 43 overs.

Lewis and Khush Seegobin added 57 for the first wicket, and after Seegobin fell for 20, it became the Lewis and Ram show.

Lewis and Ram took the match away from Select XI as they shared an astonishing 276 runs for the second wicket in 27 overs.

At 333-2, the misery for the Select XI bowlers continued as Trilok Nanan made an entertaining 46 not out to take the total over 400.

Opening the bowling as well, Lewis returned to take 3-12 from five overs with his medium pace to quickly derail Select XI’s chase.

There was a wicket each for Mickel Sharma (1-11), Brandon Henry (1-17), Darwin LaRose (1-21) and Munesh Outar (1-26).

Rivaldo Perreira (33) offered some resistance for Select XI.
