The Guyana Cricket Board has secured corporate support from OES Guyana Inc. to outfit the national male team to compete in the Cricket West Indies Rising Stars Under-15 50-over championship, slated for Antigua in March.

Last Sunday, the partnership was sealed when representatives of the Cricket Board and the Oil and Gas made a public announcement during the lunch break of the Inter-County Under-15 match between Berbice and Essequibo at the Malteenoes Sports Club ground on Thomas Lands.

OES Guyana Inc., located at Rome, East Bank Demerara, is an Asset Integrity Management company, providing services that safeguard clients’ assets through their full life-cycle.

The company, with 25 years’ experience in 14 locations, is a global market leader in inspection, repair and maintenance services and has been operating in Guyana for four years.

Marketing Coordinator Trevannie Dennis confirmed her company’s alliance with the Guyana Cricket Board by presenting a cheque valued US$2,000 to Cricket Operations Manager, Anthony D’Andrade.

Dennis said: “OES understands the importance of giving back and local community development. We are delighted to contribute to the future Guyanese cricket talent with a donation to the GCB towards the Under-15 team’s uniform and preparation ahead of the Regional Under-15 Championship hosted in Antigua.”

D’Andrade welcomed the company onboard as a development partner and praised the management for seeing the wisdom to invest at the youth level.

Currently, the Guyana Cricket Board is hosting the Inter-county UInder-15 competition, featuring the three county teams- Berbice, Demerara and Essequibo- and a Select XI made up of players from the three counties.

It is from this competition the selectors will pick the Guyana team to compete in the Rising Stars regional tournament, starting on March 24 in Antigua.

The Guyana Cricket Board is urging the players to bring their A game, as apart from winning a title for their county, they also have an opportunity to represent the country.

The competition will wrap up on Thursday, from 09:30h weather permitting.

The third and final round of matches will see table-toppers Demerara and Berbice battling for the title at the Demerara Cricket Club in Queenstown, and Essequibo against the Select XI at the Malteenoes Sports Club on Thomas Lands.
