Body of man, 61, found in trench at Bush Lot Farm

The body of Shamnarine Nowrang called ‘Shammy’, 61, a farmer of No.56 Village, Corentyne was found partially submerged in a trench at Bush Lot Farm Tuesday morning.

The discovery was made at about o7:00 hrs.

Drupattie Nowrang called ‘Devi’, the wife of Shammy, told police that her husband suffers from seizures (Epilepsy) when he consumes alcohol.

She said they both attended a funeral at Bush Lot Farm on Monday and stayed over after.

Tuesday morning, she prepared breakfast for him and he subsequently left the house.

Sometime around 08:30 hrs, while the woman was at her family home, she was informed that Shammy was seen with his head in the trench.

In shock, she ventured to the location where her worst fears were confirmed.

The police were subsequently contacted and the body was removed and taken to the Ramoo’s Funeral Home where it awaits a post mortem.
