Ranks of the Customs Anti-Narcotics Unit (CANU) on Thursday arrested a resident of Anna Catherina, West Coast Demerara with a quantity of cocaine.
A press release from CANU noted that its officers were conducting an intelligence-led operation on the Cornelia Ida Public Road when they intercepted a vehicle.
A subsequent search of the vehicle revealed10 brick-like parcels wrapped in transparent plastic suspected to be cocaine.
According to CANU, Sahadeo Prasad, 39 year, of Grant 104 Anna Catherina, was arrested and escorted to CANU’s Headquarters along with the narcotic, which tested positive for cocaine.
Investigations are ongoing.
