Police on Monday arrested a 59-year-old man after he was allegedly found in possession of 4.2 grams of cocaine in his pants waist.
The suspect was identified as Rajnarine Guyandat, an unemployed man with no fixed place of residence.
Police Headquarters said at about 03:15 hrs ranks went to Enterprise, East Coast Demerara where they saw Guyandat sitting under a makeshift shed.
A search was conducted on Guyandat and Police said they found several transparent plastic bags with rock-like, creamish substances suspected to cocaine in his pants waist.
Guyandat was told of the offence committed, cautioned and taken to the Vigilance Police Station.
There the suspected narcotics was weighed and amounted to 4.2 grams.
Guyandat remains in custody and is likely to be charged soon.
