West Indies speedster Cherry-Ann Fraser sparkled for Demerara with an incisive spell of 4-9 from four overs, which rattled Berbice for 34 in the Guyana Cricket Board Female T20 Inter-County final at the Malteenoes Sports Club on Saturday.

Demerara reached their target in 13.2 overs with five wickets remaining and, in doing so, defeated Berbice for the first time in 15 years, according to the organisers.

The final was anticlimaxed as only one batter between two quality sides on paper got to double figures.

After tense moments in the small chase, Kaysia Schultz made an unbeaten 10 to pilot her side home.

Cherry-Ann Fraser was Player-of-the-Match in the final

The former champions, on the other hand, had a top score of nine from Plaffiana Millington.

Berbice won the 50-over title, and the attention now turns to preparation for the Regional tournament after the selectors announce the national squad in the coming days.
