The Caribbean Festival of Arts (CARIFESTA) – the Caribbean’s festival for the promotion of culture, diversity and creativity – will be back next year in Barbados.

“CARIFESTA will be bright and beautiful on the sunny beaches of Barbados in August 2025,” Guyana’s President and the current Chairman of CARICOM, Dr. Irfaan Ali said on Wednesday.

President Ali spoke at the closing press conference of the 46th Regular Meeting of the Conference of the Heads of Government of CARICOM in Kingston, Georgetown.

CARIFESTA was last held in 2019 in Trinidad and Tobago.

It was then scheduled to be held in Antigua and Barbuda thereafter, since the festival moves from country to country. But with the COVID-19 pandemic limiting public events, it was delayed.

In 2022, the Government of Antigua and Barbuda officially withdrew from hosting the event.
