Guyana Police Force Football Club defeated Den Amstel Football 3-0 to kick start their campaign in Season Six of the KFC Elite League on a winning note at the Guyana Football Federation’s National Training Facility at Providence.
Dorwin George (35th) gave the lawmen a 1-0 cushion at the end of half-time, after which national player Nicholas McArthur (64th) and Tyrone Delph (88th) sealed the dominant victory on Thursday evening.
The fixture ended the first round of matches with Western Tigers top of the table due to their 10-0 triumph over Buxton United.
They are followed by Slingerz FC, Ann’s Grove, Police, and the Guyana Defence Force, who secured victories, while Santos, Fruta Conquerors, Den Amstel, Monedderlust and Buxton will aim for better results in the second round of matches.
Matches continue on Saturday with Western Tigers facing Ann’s Grove from 18:00h, followed by GDF and Buxton from 20:30h at Providence.
