Police Headquarters said in a statement that ranks who were performing security duty at the stadium observed Allen acting suspiciously. So they stopped him.

Despite some resistance, Police managed to search Allen and the bag he was carrying when they found the illegal items.

He was asked if he had a license to carry the gun but he reportedly refused to cooperate with the Police and began to behave in a disorderly manner.

Allen was subsequently arrested and escorted to the Leonora Police Station, along with the firearm and ammunition.

On arrival, he was again asked if he was a licensed firearm holder and he said “no”.

Allen is known to law enforcement officials.

In March 2020, he was charged and remanded to prison for the murder of his girlfriend, Collissa Hunte.

However, Police confirmed that the murder charge was dismissed against Allen based on advice from the Director of Public Prosecutions (DPP).
