Slingerz Football Club remained unbeaten in the KFC Elite League after they defeated Fruta Conquerors 4-1 at the Guyana Football Federation’s National Training Centre at Providence on Tuesday evening.
A double by national player Darron Niles and goals from Leo Lovell and Jeremy Garrett sealed the dominant win for the League’s inaugural champions.
Lovell opened the scoring in the 45th, and Niles scored two minutes later. Garrett made his mark in the 80th, while Niles again found the back of the net in the 86th.
Dwayne Jones scored for the opposition in the 62nd minute.
Meanwhile, Den Amstel Football Club got their first win, as Anthony Benn’s goal in the 18th minute left Santos Football Club winless.
The League continues Thursday evening with Monedderlust Football Club hosting Guyana Police Force Football Club at the #5 Ground, West Coast Berbice, from 19:00h.
The tournament winner will receive $2,000,000, while the second, third, and fourth-place finishers will receive $1,200,000, $800,000, and $500,000, respectively.
