Chief Executive Officer of New Doctor’s Clinic, Satyendra Khemraj continues to recognise local talents in the field of sport by presenting a golden pendant to Cricket Broadcaster, John Ramsingh at the Everest Cricket Club last weekend.
The surprise presentation was done at the conclusion of the Reunion cricket match for the Guyana team of 1983.
“We learn a lot about our players while persons overseas learn a lot about our country when this humble young man is doing cricket commentary in or out of Guyana. That is why we want to honour him with this cricket bat pendant. He makes us proud at Everest and overall as Guyanese so it is only fitting,” said Khemraj while making the presentation in front of the crowd which included President of Guyana His Excellency Dr. Mohamed Irfaan Ali and the Guyana cricket legends from the team of 1983.
Khemraj, who is a cricket fanatic, started giving golden cricket bat pendants in 2023 after the Guyana Amazon Warriors won their maiden Caribbean Premier League (CPL) title. On that occasion, Gudakesh Motie, Azam Khan, Matthew Nandu, Saim Ayub and Junior Sinclair were the recipients.
Then after his heroics in his first Test series, Shamar Joseph also found himself on the receiving end of Khemraj’s generosity.
Ramsingh who was part of the broadcast team during the successful title hunt for the Guyana Amazon Warriors last year and again last Sunday when the cricket legends mixed with current players for a day out was surprised.
“Usually the players or persons on field are recognised so I am pleasantly surprised. I will wear it [the pendant] proudly and will continue to represent our players and our country wherever I go. Thanks New Doctor’s Clinic,” he said.
Khemraj also noted that once players and officials do exceptional in their field his company will try their best to recognise them.
